It is a funny thing with this calendar, I always try and make a plan in advance for the sequence of work and then when it comes down to it the work has its own ideas. This egret just muscled his way in. He actually was the template for a large mural that my partner in crime, fellow Cobh artist Sylvia Matthews, created for the Cork College of FET last year. It was a challenging and exhilarating thing to recreate something at that scale. I will be weaving in threads to past work here this year. A tree in November which still has many leaves and yet already has perfectly formed buds on its fingers. These buds are often easy to miss.
