I wanted to share a ray of light today, given the weather we are having. This piece is part of a little series of small square paintings I did on something called Clay Board. It has the most amazingly absorbent surface. These were some of my lockdown paintings. Before lockdown I had been doing a weekly mindful drawing class in a park with a fantastic group of women. It was taught by artists Carol Healy and Cassandra Eustace. We spent time in nature absorbing everything through a whole range of exercises. It was a deep dive and a meeting with nature and felt like visiting a new place or a new planet every time. It changed the way I worked entirely.

The patterns I absorbed became part of my DNA.
