Open Call – Opportunity to dance at A Dance Brew at Cork Midsummer Festival 2015

Workshop 30th March 2015,
2pm – 4pm,
Firkin Crane, Cork.

An open workshop/audition will be held for teenagers aged 13 – 18 at Firkin Crane on the 30th March 2015 from 2pm – 4pm. This workshop will be hosted by Laura Murphy, Cork's Dancer in Residence at Firkin Crane. The workshop will seek to find 8 teenagers to form A pilot Youth Dance Group to perform as part of A Dance Brew in Cork Midsummer Festival 2015. The Youth Group will work together in May – June 2015 culminating in a live performance on the 20th June 2015 alongside professional dance works at Firkin Crane.

Teenagers who are interested in dance and movement, theatre and creativity are welcome to apply. No previous dance experience is requested however some movement/performance experience would be beneficial. The selected group will work with Choreographer Laura Murphy, Visual Artist Astrid Walsh, and Composer Irene Buckley alongside Dance Artists Helga Deasy and Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín.
